About

The Budget Review Committee works with city staff to review and discuss the status of each department’s budget and make recommendations to the Finance Director and City Council. The Committee considers cost-saving measures to reduce or eliminate potential deficits in annual budget proposals and establishes as a primary goal a balanced budget. The Committee also conducts a thorough and analytical review of the annual Capital Improvement Budget and recommends changes in project priorities as deemed appropriate or necessary.

  • Seven regular members and two alternate members are appointed by the City Council for three-year terms.
  • Applicants must reside within the city limits and be a qualified elector of the city, or be a business owner within the city, or be a business location manager for a business within the city.
  • Members are not compensated.
  • Members must submit an annual Statement of Economic Interest (FPPC Form 700).
  •  City staff provides an initial orientation and ethics training in accordance with state law.
