City Attorney

The City Attorney's Office advises the City Council and all city boards and commissions and prepares and reviews ordinances, resolutions, contracts and other documents on behalf of the city. It also prosecutes municipal code violations. The City Attorney represents the city in civil litigation matters and acts as a liaison to outside special counsel.

The City Attorney also acts as general counsel to the Successor Agency to the Former San Marcos Redevelopment Agency, Public Facilities Financing Authority, San Marcos Fire Protection District, Mobilehome Rent Review Commission, and other city agencies and authorities.
