Smart Splash Summer Bash returns to Sunset Park

The City of San Marcos’ Watershed Program invites families to the Smart Splash Summer Bash on Saturday, May 9 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sunset Park (909 Puesta del Sol, San Marcos, CA 92078). 

This free event celebrates water conservation and quality through fun, hands-on activities for all ages. 

Event highlights include: 

  • Free Ice Cream 

  • Interactive booths from local partners (Vista Irrigation District, EDCO & more) 

  • Terrarium building station with Vallecitos Water District 

  • “Under the Sea” Photo Booth 

  • Watershed Art Contest 

About the art contest: 

All San Marcos residents are welcome to participate! Artwork should showcase watershed themes like pollution, local creeks, or wildlife. Selected entries will be displayed at the event for public voting, and the top 3 picks will win cool prizes like: 

  • A drawer storage box/easel and other art supplies 

  • A gift card 

Submission deadline: May 7 at 4 p.m. to City Hall (1 Civic Center Dr., San Marcos)
