September is National Preparedness Month, and the City of San Marcos is inviting residents and families to get ready for emergencies at the annual Community Preparedness Fair on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
This free, family-friendly event will feature activities and resources to help residents prepare for various types of emergencies.
Being prepared starts before an emergency happens. The Community Preparedness Fair will highlight simple steps residents can take now to help protect their families, homes and the community.

Taking time to prepare now can reduce risk and help residents respond more effectively when an emergency occurs. Residents can also download the Genasys Protect app to receive important emergency information and evacuation notices.
