Registration opens July 8 for San Marcos Campout

Families are invited to sleep under the stars and create lasting memories at the City of San Marcos' annual Family Campout, taking place Saturday, Aug. 1, through Sunday, Aug. 2, at Walnut Grove Park.

Registration opens Wednesday, July 8, at 10 a.m. and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited.

The overnight event offers a classic camping experience, complete with family-friendly activities and outdoor fun. Participants can enjoy arts and crafts, outdoor games, a movie under the stars, a flashlight hike, campfire songs, s'mores, a hot dog dinner, and a continental breakfast before heading home the next morning.

The Family Campout will be held at Walnut Grove Park, 1950 Sycamore Drive. Check-in begins at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1, and the event concludes at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 2. The registration fee is $15 per person. Families are encouraged to register early, as the event typically fills quickly.
