Moree Fire evacuations lifted

UPDATE 4/5 @ 7:21 p.m.  All evacuations have now been lifted for the areas threatened by the Moree Fire. Thanks to all the first responders for keeping everyone safe and saving people's homes.  

If you haven't already downloaded the Genasys Protect app, be sure to do that (or bookmark the website) so you can get immediate notifications about evacuations affecting your neighborhood.  You can add up to five addresses (home, work, family member homes, schools, etc.). 

UPDATE 4/5 @ 5:45 p.m.: Evacuations have been lifted in zones 0790 and 0794.  Zone 0793 has been downgraded to a warning with updates expected soon. For the latest information, download the Genasys Protect App or visit the Genasys Protect website.

ORIGINAL: 4/5 @ 4 P.M.  Forward progress has been stopped for the San Marcos fire near the 500 block of La Moree Road. 

If you live in San Marcos, be aware of increased law enforcement and firefighting activity.  

  • An evacuation order is in place for the shaded areas in red shown in the map below. It means everyone in the impacted areas must leave immediately.
  • An evacuation order is in place for the shaded area in yellow shown in the map below. Be prepared to evacuate should conditions change.
