Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700)
The Political Reform Act (Gov. Code §§ 81000–91014) requires designated state and local government officials and employees to publicly disclose their personal assets and income using a Statement of Economic Interests form (Form 700). In San Marcos, this includes:
- Mayor
- City Council Member
- City Manager
- City Attorney
- Planning Commissioner

Campaign statements
The Political Reform Act requires disclosure of contributions and expenditures related to campaigns supporting or opposing local candidates and ballot measures.
The filer access portal allows candidates and committees to submit disclosure reports electronically. Contact the City Clerk at 760-744-1050, ext. 3105, to obtain a filer identification number and password.
