Inspections

City building inspectors conduct inspections to ensure compliance with approved plans, and local and state building code regulations. The inspection process helps ensure public safety, health and welfare, and secures the value of property improvements.

Inspections

Step 1.Find out if you need an inspection

  • Inspections are performed at critical junctures over the course of construction as authorized by the building permit. Regularly called inspections include foundation, rough frame combination, exterior lath and drywall and final inspection.
  • Intermediary inspections traditionally include underground plumbing and electrical, exterior sheer and roof nail inspection that allow weather covering prior to frame combo, insulation, and electric meter release prior to final.
  • Partial inspections may be requested in order to facilitate the coordination of the trades.
  • All projects require a final inspection.

Step 2.Schedule an appointment
