Zoning Workshop

We are hosting a public workshop to provide information about an update to the scope of Text Amendment TA23-0001 as previously reviewed in the public workshop on April 30, 2025. This proposed amendment represents the first phase of a comprehensive update to the City’s Zoning Ordinance, specifically Title 20 of the San Marcos Municipal Code. Over time, staff have identified inconsistencies, conflicts, and discrepancies within Title 20, as well as with state law, which has led to the need for this update. The September 4, 2025 workshop will discuss the inclusion of San Marcos Municipal Code Zoning Ordinance, Chapter 20.310 Inclusionary Housing Ordinance into the first phase of the comprehensive update to the City’s Zoning Ordinance, to clarify how in-lieu fees are calculated.
