Starting Monday, Nov. 2, crews are scheduled to do road maintenance work on Center Drive, Avenida Ricardo and a part of Nordahl Road near the 78 freeway. The following is the anticipated schedule for this project area.

No work is planned on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3.

Monday, Nov. 2 - Avenida Ricardo

  • Day work, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • A road closure is required to complete this work where no street parking will be available. Affected residents may park in the Walmart shopping center the evening of Nov. 1 and overnight before work begins on Avenida Ricardo the next morning.
  • Cars left in the shopping center parking lot overnight from Sunday, Nov. 1 through Monday, Nov. 2 will not be towed. Per the shopping center management, vehicles parked at this location are left at the owner's risk, and neither damage nor theft is covered.

Wednesday, Nov. 4 - Center Drive

  • Day work, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • The work will be done in phases to allow access in and out of the adjacent shopping and residential areas. Traffic control will be in place. Please allow yourself plenty of time to get where you need to go.

Thursday, Nov. 5 - Nordahl Road, freeway overpass to Center Drive

  • Night work, 8 p.m. – 5 a.m.
  • A road closure is required to complete this work which has been coordinated with Caltrans.  Approved detours around this work area will be in place. Please follow signs and watch for workers.

Traffic control will be in place and noise and dust typical of road construction is expected. Changeable message boards with the dates and times of construction have been placed in the project area to notify drivers.

This project is a part of the city’s yearly road improvement overlay project which makes sure our roads are in good condition. This project is being done now before the El Nino season starts to support safe roads for our community.
