New solar-powered lighting at Woodland Park
Published on January 20, 2026
The City of San Marcos has completed a lighting upgrade at Woodland Park, replacing outdated fixtures with new solar-powered lights that are more energy-efficient and sustainable. The improvements enhance visibility throughout the park while modernizing critical infrastructure for long-term use.
This project was made possible by Measure Q, a voter-approved initiative that funds repairs, maintenance, and improvements to city facilities, parks, and public spaces. Measure Q continues to support investments that enhance quality of life and keep community spaces safe, accessible, and well maintained.
The new lighting reflects the City’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, safety, and responsible infrastructure improvements that benefit residents and park visitors alike.
