The City of San Marcos has reactivated splash pads at several local parks earlier than scheduled due to unseasonably warm temperatures. The early activation allows families and children to cool off and enjoy outdoor recreation during the current heat wave.

Splash pads are now operating at multiple parks throughout the city, including Mulberry Park, Buelow Park, and Cerro de las Posas Park. Repairs are currently underway at the splash pad at San Elijo Park. These water features are popular seasonal amenities that provide a fun and refreshing way for the community to have fun outdoors while keeping cool.

With high temperatures, residents are encouraged to take precautions when spending time outdoors. The city reminds the community to drink plenty of water, wear lightweight clothing, and never leave children or pets in parked vehicles. For helpful heat related information, visit our latest news release.
