Volunteer Programs

Volunteers are an essential component of the department’s operations. These volunteers provide day-to-day administrative services, as well as emergency incident support. Examples of their duties include: 

  • Fire prevention education 
  • Office support 
  • Delivery and pick up of supplies and equipment 
  • Assist with hydration and food supplies for firefighting personnel at fires and other extended emergency response situations 
  • Citizen assistance (such as information and directions) 
  • Assist with the smoke detector program 
  • Inspect fire hydrants 
  • Perform other assigned jobs or services as needed 

Potential volunteers must be at least 18 and able to volunteer on a routine basis during normal business hours. Volunteers must have a valid California Driver’s License and auto insurance.
